Flood Precast were awarded the design, manufacture, delivery and installation of their  trademark precast wide slab flooring product, Flood Super Wideslab® to the new Head Quarter Building for the British Horse Society, Kenilworth, Warwickshire.

Kier Construction secured the project through a traditional tender which included an exposed concrete soffit suitable for direct decoration.

The benefits of Flood Precast Flood Super Wideslab® allowed all the structural and architectural visions for the complex geometry of the design to be realised to the highest standard of quality.

The Design

The design of the structure was based upon a single story, doughnut shape wrapped around an ancient oak tree with a precast concrete roof, the soffit of which was painted directly. The structural frame was in steel with the roof sloping from the external circular perimeter to the internal circular perimeter. This circular area was divided into 25 wedge shaped sections by main beams to support the precast.
