We are now Members of the Supply Chain Sustainability School!

We are pleased to announce Flood Precast are now members of the Supply Chain Sustainability School.

We are already ISO14001 approved but as a conscientious manufacturer of precast concrete solutions we are always looking for new ways to reduce our impact on the environment. Joining “The School” seemed like a natural progression so we are very excited at having joined this organisation which has definitely given us some great ideas.

We recognise that although the construction industry in general has taken several steps forward in addressing key environmental and social sustainability challenges, Flood Precast and our customers are increasingly demanding more sustainable practices. This coupled with the forthcoming BIMS legislation is driving the market for a greener, more sustainable construction sector and has focused our attention on what we at Flood Precast can do to lower our impact on the environment .

Over the next few months we will be looking at putting some of their suggestions onto practice.

The Supply Chain Sustainability School was established as the common approach for suppliers and sub-contractors to address both environmental and social sustainability issues. Over 2,300 members have joined the School from 1,341 companies. We are delighted to announce that Balfour Beatty, Carillion and Wates have joined our original 7 partners; Aggregate Industries, Kier, Lend Lease, Morgan Sindall, Skanska, Sir Robert McAlpine and Willmott Dixon.

The School represents a common approach to addressing sustainability within our supply chains and provides you with practical and free support. A new self help assessment will allow you to assess your current sustainability strengths, as well as identify any areas in need of development. The School will provide you with a prioritised action plan and an excellent range of free tools, e-learning and sustainability training.
