The Triplets and Flood Precast Concrete Stairs.

King’s Cross Gasholder Triplets are located on a site of three highly decorative, wrought iron Victorian Grade II listed gasometer structures, in the centre of the massive King’s Cross redevelopment project. The Triplets project forms part of the urbanisation of redundant marshalling yards and the subsequent construction of a substantial range of residential, commercial and buildings for public use.

Flood Precast is one of the largest producers of Precast Concrete Structural components in Ireland & the UK and our teams and we worked in partnership with the projects design team to design, supply and install 54No Precast Stairs and Associated Precast Landings.

There was an accelerated construction programme on this project where our design team and transport departments worked hard to meet the original programme delivery dates.

The original gasometers have been dismantled and refurbished, and will be reassembled together into a “triplet” maintaining their individual elements but standing as one arrangement. King’s Cross Gasholder Triplets will have a large circular void between them with raised walkways linking them together.

Morrisroe were commissioned during the latter part of 2014 to undertake and complete the superstructure reinforced concrete construction of the three circular residential buildings, comprising 9, 10 and 12-storey blocks.
