Fitting team excels at Ashlin Centre Installation – Hollowcore Planks

This was an interesting project for our fitting team and transportation department as part of the hollowcore planks needed to be lifted from the trailers over the inhabited building into the site which was located within the Ashlin Centre.

Flood Precast provided 200mm and 300mm depth of hollowcore slabs and 4no Precast Concrete Stairs for this extension. Due to the length and depth of the hollowcore slabs our health and safety manager, was on site during installation to make sure that this installation was completed in a smooth and safe manner.

This extension was a plant room for the existing Ashlin Centre, which is part of North Dublin Mental Health Services inpatient psychiatric unit, located on the grounds of Beaumont Hospital has now been opened for patients.

It is providing acute inpatient treatment and care for general adult and psychiatry of old age patients for the 250,000 population of the North Dublin area.

It replaces the acute inpatient unit at St. Ita’s Hospital in Portrane, Co. Dublin.  The Joyce Unit, a general adult psychiatric admissions unit provides 38 single en-suite rooms, while the Sheehan Unit has six single ensuite rooms for the psychiatry of old age service.

The Centre has an extensive activities area including an art room, project room, sensory room, conference room and four courtyard gardens.
