Precast Super Wideslab® wins out again for its structural properties on this development

Flood Precast provided first floor precast Super Wideslab® for this development.  Flood Precast Super Wideslab® is a precast composite floor system installed in 2.4m sections, which can accommodate span up to 12m. Super Wideslab® flooring is fast becoming the preferred choice of precast flooring for both contractors and engineers due to its structural properties and its installation speed.

Flood Super Wideslab® is an extremely adaptive and easily erected floor that can be installed quickly on-site. It can meet most structural requirements, and can be adapted to a variety of specific needs, such as use of long clear spans or larger panels reduces the number of columns or joints needed.

This development involved the demolition of existing disused north Watford pub and erection of a part 2 storey, part 3 storey building comprising 14 x 2 bed flats and 4 x 1 bed flats with 13 car parking spaces. This collection of stylish one & two bedroom apartments have been built to a high specification and have been thoughtfully designed to reflect the cosmopolitan feel of this popular North Watford location. Using Flood Super Wideslab® demonstrates their acoustic insulation. Not alone is sound reduced between floors but creaking floors are a thing of the past.

The site was originally used as a public air raid shelter during the Second World War before being in-filled in 1954 when the pub was built. In recent years building has been used as restaurant but it is currently vacant. Due to its location it provided a challenge to our fitting crews to manoeuvre our slabs into position on the tight site.
