Get My Wide Slab to the Site on Time

Andrew Kinsella Managing Director of Transport Partner, Gwynedd Shipping Ltd delivers the first of a number of high spec liveried Euroliners to our Transport Co-ordinator Kurt Kaupert.

The units are designed to the highest Health and Safety standards and are capable of widening at the top to cater for our 2.4m wide Flood Super Wideslab® wide slab flooring.

This investment further copper fastens the already strong relationship between our companies and demonstrates our collective determination the get our precast products to our customers sites on time.

The Demand for Wide Slab Flooring

With the demand for our trademark wide slab flooring product from Major Contractors in the UK growing rapidly, it was necessary to increase our transport capability. Traditionally the Super Wideslab at 2.4m wide could only be transported on Flatbed trailers which have a limited customer base for back loads.

The New Krone Trailers, however are designed such that the roof rails can be extended outwards to allow the 2.4m Flood Super Wideslab® to be lifted straightout through the roof.

 The Truck is always Full

The potential customer base for back loads with curtain sided vehicles is vast, so once our products are delivered, the truck goes straight to the nearest pick up point where it’s loaded with anything from steel coils to washing machines for the journey back.

The knock on environmental dividend comes from the fact that the truck is always full, always working. Too often and to the detriment of the environment, the trucks we see on the road are going home empty!
