flood precast concrete

Fast tracked Lidl includes Flood Precast Concrete products

This project had extremely tight lead in times which in turn meant the design and manufacture of the flood precast concrete products needed to be fast-tracked to meet the deadline dates. After 20 weeks of construction, the brand new 2,471 square metre store in Virginia was opened in December 2017. Flood Precast worked in conjunction with McCallion Group providing Flood Super Wideslab®, Hollowcore and Precast Stairs for this new store.

Hollowcore flooring is an efficient and modern flooring solution that can be implemented within a great many structures. Comprised of precast concrete with lengthwise voids, Hollowcore is the ideal solution for those who are looking to take advantage of the strength of traditional concrete while simultaneously enjoying a low weight and high load capacity.

The use of Precast Concrete Hollowcore Flooring is a highly cost-effective solution that fits easily into any structural system such as steel or concrete frame or indeed masonry construction. The units themselves are manufactured at a width of 1200mm and depths of 150, 200, 250, and 300mm. See Span/Load Table for full details

Benefits of using Precast Concrete Floors

  • High load capacity and efficient design make long spans achievable
  • Reduces the need for load bearing walls
  • Allows for greater flexibility in design
  • Less formwork and scaffolding
  • Immediate safe working platform after installation
  • Reduced construction programme
  • Site progress not subject to weather
