Major Progress on Precast Rising Elements at Horgan’s Quay Residential Development

It’s been a productive and fast-moving few weeks on site at the Horgan’s Quay Residential Development, where our team has been hard at work progressing through a crucial phase of construction: the installation of precast rising elements. With activity ramping up across multiple areas, the transformation of the site is becoming more visible with each passing day.

The Role of Precast Rising Elements

Precast rising elements are essential to the vertical structure of any multistory building. These components not only provide the core strength and stability of the development but also significantly speed up the construction process. By manufacturing precast concrete off-site in a controlled environment, we can ensure a high level of quality and precision before they even arrive on site.

At Horgan’s Quay, the precast elements being installed include:

  • Stair Cores: Providing safe and efficient vertical circulation throughout the building.
  • Lift Cores: Serving as central access points and essential for accessibility and functionality.
  • Blade Walls & Shear Walls: Offering lateral stability and resistance against wind and environmental forces.
  • Structural Columns: Bearing vertical loads and linking the overall framework.
  • Precast Concrete Beams: Supporting floor slabs and distributing loads across the structure.
