Pre-stressed Concrete Flooring Slabs

Unlike poured concrete floors, prestressed concrete floor slabs offer a great deal more flexibility for contractors, engineers and building designers.

At Flood Precast, we allow site work to continue, even when the weather is not at its most helpful for concrete.

This is largely due to the precast flooring sections which can be made well away from site and delivered to meet the particular schedule of the construction site.

Wet Cast Production System

The wet cast production system we use means that the prestressed concrete floor slabs we make can be designed for virtually any shape that the building demands. However, the advantages of precasting the concrete floor of a building does not stop there. Products like the popular Super Wideslab® offer the largest possible spans, allowing for the rapid construction of a variety of building types.

Wide Slab Flooring

New schools, hotels, student accommodation blocks, offices and retail spaces are all projects that are suited to the use of these wide flooring slabs. It is important to take note that the trademark wide slab system also functions as a heat sink which can be used to create natural ventilation in car park construction, for example.

Furthermore, the Wideslab sections spans in two directions simultaneously, making it – along with our Omnia system – the perfect solution for overcoming disproportionate collapse or progressive collapse.

Ease of Installation

Often offering great levels of sound insulation, our prestressed concrete floor slabs are designed with the ease of installation in mind. This not only makes them easy to fit in with other elements of the building, for instance stairwells and columns, but helps to reduce the overall cost of a project. Our Hollowcore slabs come in a choice of depths and can be grouted as soon as they are installed and eliminate much of the on site form work and steel fixing associated with other concrete solutions.
