Flood precast worked in partnership with Caddick who were awarded this contract which was the redevelopment of site in Lawrence Street in York to provide 220 self-contained student flats spread over three blocks. The redevelopment of this site will provide economic strength to the local and surrounding areas.
Flood Precast were able to provide the Flood Super Wideslab® which has the following benefits:
- Thermal Mass
- Strong BREEAM Rating
- Sound Resistance
Which ties in with the customer requirements of gaining a Very Good BREEAM rating.
Flood SuperWide Slab was ideal for this project as one of the concerns was the issue of noise pollution for the local residents. Flood SuperWide Slab has been tested under the Building Regulation Part E -Resistance to the passage of sound where it surpassed all minimum standards.
Twenty units of precast concrete stairs were also provided for this contract.
