Flood Precast worked with Ledwith Builders Ltd, in providing Hollowcore flooring for this important community college development.

A hollowcore slab, also known as a voided slab or hollowcore plank, is a precast slab of prestressed concrete. Hollowcore has a high load-bearing capacity, it can handle unique design loads from tile and stone floors, fireplaces, wall partitions, columns and even heavy goods vehicles. It also creates wide open spaces without the need for columns, trusses or joists. Hollowcore is easy to work with and accommodates other building trades.

Precast Concrete Hollowcore floors offer many advantages over alternative flooring methods like metal deck, in-situ concrete and timber.

Prestressed Concrete Hollowcore floors are fast to erect and are a great choice of flooring system for the construction of:

  • Hotels
  • Apartments
  • Office Blocks
  • Car parks
  • Industrial Buildings
  • Schools
