Project Information: Refurbishment of Historic Wings at the National Gallery of Ireland.

Due to the location of this city centre development there was a necessary need to apply for a loading/unloading permit for our deliveries. These permits are a requirement for all city centre deliveries. Our transport department are dedicated to providing the contractor and site managers with up-to-date information and delivery schedules which are required for any site delivery to run smoothly.

NGI Historic Wings Refurbishment project of the Dargan and Milltown wings at Merrion Square is being managed by the Office of Public Works’ Project Management Services with Heneghan Peng appointed as the consultant Architects for the project.

The first phase of the project completed in May 2012 and involved the repair of the Dargan wing roof. Preparations for the second phase of the refurbishment project commenced in January 2014 and will continue through to 2016. John Paul Construction was awarded the contract for the role of Main Contractor for the works.

Minister for Public Expenditure Brendan Howlin noted that the gallery will be fully reopened in pristine condition in time for the 1916 centenary.
