Precast Stairs provided for Central and East Quad building DIT New Campus

Flood Precast worked in partnership with Construction Contractors  John Sisk & Sons (Holdings) Ltd and FCC Construction (Ireland) Ltd in providing precast concrete stairs for the Central and East Quad building at the new campus.

Flood Precast staircases conform to all current regulations and can accommodate most architectural layouts. Design and manufacture are carried out in accordance with BS 8110: 1997. These stairs giving a Type ‘B’ finish. Landings can be cast integral with the stair flights or separate in order to achieve the optimum staircase construction. 

DIT Grangegorman design programme was BIM lead. Our design team worked with 3D Models producing our precast concrete stairs 3D Models for each of the blocks which sat into the overall building model which provided a clear view of the overall building and clash dedication between m&e, frame and precast elements.

The Central Quad buildings will accommodate academic activities and facilities required for a total of ten schools from the College of Sciences & Health, College of Engineering & Built Environment and the College of Arts & Tourism. The gross internal floor area for the Central Quad will be approx. 36,000 m2

The East Quad buildings will accommodate the majority of academic activities and facilities required for the College of Creative & Cultural Industries which currently consists of seven schools, five of which will be accommodated within the East Quad. The gross internal floor area for the East Quad will be approx. 16,000 m2.
