Flood Precast are nearing the successful completion of the supply of
double height concrete columns for the 6 Storey Residential/Commercial Development at Finsbury Park London for Stephenson Construction.
From an early stage Stephenson Construction recognised the following main
issues with the traditional single height insitu column design on this development that needed to be reviewed.
Issues with single height Concrete Columns
1. The foot print of the building took over the majority of the site
which therefore left little room for storage of column boxes, access for
concrete wagons etc.
2. With an aggressive programme they required a faster, not weather
dependent less cranage solution which would also reduce the labour
requirement on site.
Concrete Design Engineers
Along with Flood Precast they approached the design engineer’s on the project Tier Consult with an alternative Double Height Column Proposal which overcame all these issues.
On approval of this proposal Flood Precast worked closely with Stephenson and Tier Consult on a more detailed design to meet all the criteria for this element of the works.
During the build Flood Precast liaised closely with Stephenson’s site team to ensure that all milestone dates were met and look forward to the successful completion of the works within programme.
